Yet Another Reminder Concerning The Internet
For years I have been exhorting you to blow up your TVs - and that you must have the most bomb-proof filter possible for the Internet (if you are going to have the Internet) –IF- and at least once a month we’ve placed notices here in the bulletin about the AFA Filter or Familink.
And even IF you do have one of these filters – the computer should still be placed in a public area and not be available for use unless others are present.
For those of you who have the Internet – if I were to come over to visit today and ask about your filter – what would you say?
If I were able to scroll down the list of every website ever accessed from your computer – what would I see?
According to Bishop Finn’s pastoral letter about the dangers of pornography, “90% of 8-16 year olds using the Internet have viewed pornography on line (most while doing homework). 2004; Eleven years old is the average age of first Internet exposure to pornography. 2004” (emphasis added)
As if this isn’t horrifying enough, consider: a) that these statistics are 3 years old; b) what this means in terms of the life-long battle for purity (vs. bondage to sin) for each of these young people; c) given that, objectively speaking, viewing pornography is always mortally sinful, what this means in terms of supernatural life (& salvation) for each of these young people; and d) what this means for the salvation of the parents who provided such opportunities to their children. [Think of millstones (Mt 18:6)]
When Our Lady of Fatima showed the children that terrifying vision of hell, they could see the souls falling in like snowflakes in a blizzard – and these statistics make it easy to see why…
At the end of the world, we shall all see what a frightful impact the internet has had on the population of heaven, what an incredible number of the damned have been vacuumed into hell by the internet…
What is the eternal salvation of your children worth? Either get the AFA filter or Familink as a service provider, or disconnect your Internet service, today, when you get home.
Donations for the Missions
In honor of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, during this month of the Most Holy Rosary, we will be collecting religious items for the Missions in Africa. They are still in need of more Rosaries, including Rosaries that "shine at night" for the children, (glow in the dark), as well as Curcifixes, holy pictures, etc. There will be a box for donations downstairs by the religious goods cabinet on Sunday Oct. 28th, (after both Masses). Thank you - May God reward you.
Fourth Annual All Saints Day Party
The Homeschoolers will be having their fourth annual All Saints Day Party on October 31st from 7:00-9:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Shawnee (5900 King on the corner of Johnson Drive and King across from St. Joseph’s Church). There will be games and prizes. There is a suggested donation of $1.00 per child ages 3-12 to help with the cost of prizes, drinks, paper ware, etc. All children and adults from the Latin Mass Community are welcome to attend.
There will be a potluck dinner and everyone is asked to bring a main dish and/or side dish (drinks and desert will be provided). Please have your child dress as their favorite saint. If you would like to help with either setup, cleanup, or would like to work a game please contact Martha Dingerson.
Altar & Rosary
Our annual arts, crafts and bake sale will be held on Sunday Dec.2nd following the 11:00 AM Mass. We will also be conducting a raffle over the next number of weeks for a variety of prizes. The drawing will be held on Dec. 2nd.
