Three area grocery stores are now offering a “Family Aisle.” This means that the aisle does not have any inappropriate magazines in it, i.e. NO TRASH! If you check out through this aisle, your poor children won’t have to run the gauntlet! It is the first aisle and it is always open. I would like to encourage our people from that area of town to support this store and personally thank the management. Even a phone call to thank the store manager would be very good.

Recommendation from Fr Wolfe: Some folks talk because they want to say something; and some folks talk because they have something to say. Steve Wood has something to say, and his talks “Miracle Bread of the Old and the New Testaments” and “The Eucharist: Fuel for Good Works” are so powerful that I think that every one that can afford it, should buy 2 copies: one for the family and one to give to a seminarian or a priest. This stuff is spiritual dynamite! (Fr Wolfe)

According to Blessed are the Pure in Heart, Bishop Finn’s pastoral letter about the dangers of pornography, “90% of 8-16 year olds using the Internet have viewed pornography on line (most while doing homework). 2004; Eleven years old is the average age of first Internet exposure to pornography. 2004” As if this isn’t horrifying enough, consider: a) that these statistics are 3 years old; b) what this means in terms of the life-long battle for purity (vs. bondage to sin) for each of these young people; c) given that, objectively speaking, viewing pornography is always mortally sinful, what this means in terms of supernatural life (& salvation) for each of these young people; and d) what this means for the salvation of the parents who provided such opportunities to their children. [Think of millstones (Mt 18:6)]
When Our Lady of Fatima showed the children that terrifying vision of hell, they could see the souls falling in like snowflakes in a blizzard – and these statistics make it easy to see why…
